HDFC Bank today organised its national employee sports competition Josh Unlimited in Ludhiana. The employee engagement initiative was inaugurated by chief guest Mr. Arun Dhand (center), International Badminton player; Mr. Iqbal Singh Guliani (left), Zonal Head, Ludhiana, HDFC Bank; along with Mr. Parag Shah (second from right), Head, Learning and Development, and Employee Engagement, HDFC Bank; in the presence of other senior bank officials as well as participants.

One of the largest employee events of its kind by any corporate in India

Ludhiana, November 10, 2018: HDFC Bank Ltd., today organised the 7th edition of its annual sports competition for employees of Ludhiana region. Known as Josh Unlimited, this event is the flagship employee engagement initiative which the Bank undertakes to promote fitness and overall well-being among its employees through sports. It was launched in Srinagar in September and will be rolled out in over 35 cities across India in the coming months.

This is one of the largest internal sports events for employees organised by a corporate in the country. It is a platform for the Bank employees to compete in 10 sporting disciplines such as cricket, football, badminton, athletics, carom, chess, volleyball, lagori, kho-kho, and table tennis. Last year, more than 17,000 employees participated in the competition held at 29 locations over a period of five months.

In Ludhiana, the event was held at Punjab Agricultural University, Ferozepur Road. Over525 employees and their families participated from Ludhiana as well as neighbouring towns such as Ferozepur, Moga Muktsar, Talwandi Bhai, Faridkot and Fazilka. The event also saw enthusiastic support from families of the employees.

The Ludhiana edition of Josh Unlimited 2018 was inaugurated by chief guest Mr. Arun Dhand, International Badminton player; and Mr. Iqbal Singh Guliani, Zonal Head, Ludhiana, HDFC Bank in the presence of other senior bank officials as well as participants.

Mr. Iqbal Singh Guliani, Zonal Head, Ludhiana, HDFC Bank said, “Our employees are our greatest strength. Sports plays a big role in their overall health and well-being, which is of utmost importance to us. I am happy that we have this excellent platform at HDFC Bank, which gives the employees in the Ludhiana region the opportunity to not just compete but also build team spirit and camaraderie.”
