Talwandi Sabo, April 22, 2015: Guru Gobind Singh College of Education, A constituent College of Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo organized a National Seminar on Role of NCTE in Quality Enhancement of Teacher Education. Experts in the field education from surrounding universities participated as resource persons in the seminar. Dr N.S Malhi, Vice Chancellor graced the occasion as chief guest. Dr.A.K. Kansal, Dean, GGS College of Education welcomed chief guest, resource persons, all the delegates and audience.
Dr. Kulwinder Singh (Pbi. Univ. Patiala) delivered presidential address and discussed very nicely role of NCTE in the quality enhancement of teacher education with the help of live examples, also correlated with the today’s scenario of education system in India in his presentation.
Dr. Tarlok Bandhu, Principal, Khalsa College, Sri Mukatsar Sahib, keynote speaker of the seminar discussed the quality aspect in the public and private sector institutions. He also suggested to deviate from the present method of teacher education or traditional method of teacher education. He further suggested the required changes in the school infrastructure and curricula.
Dr. Raminder Singh (Pbi. Univ. Regional Centre, Bathinda) discussed the whole view point of education since British era, Major Education Commissions and also elaborated the role of National Council for teacher education. He also explained the role of statuary bodies for quality education, ie. UGC, NAAC & AICTE etc.
Dr. Nivedita Hooda, Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, discussed about 20 week teacher training programme, which is new proposal for 2 years B. Ed. Course & in this no guide will or teacher will be allotted, students will do their own, this will a directionless teaching, she added. She supported the present system of teacher training.
Around 40 papers were received and 10 delegates presented their papers on different topics of quality education with respect NCTE and other quality central institutions.
Dr. Kulwinder Singh concluded the technical session rather whole seminar by considering every speaker’s view point.
Dr. N.S. Malhi appreciated the efforts of seminar on quality education. He also lauded the efforts of resource persons for their rich views for quality enhancement. 
Prof. Jagvinder Singh Sidhu was the coordinator of the seminar and Prof Sukhdevinder Singh Kaurra conducted the whole programme very nicely. Dr. Balwant Singh Sandhu, Deputy Dean, Basic Sciences delivered vote of thanks.
