Greenwood High Students Wins National School Football Championship

Bangalore, March 2, 2016: Greenwood High International School students won one of India's biggest multi-city school football league, SFC (School Football Championship) held recently at Western Railway Football Ground in Mumbai. The championship saw 4 cities participating, namely Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Bangalore. SFC features 210 teams from 100 different schools competing in a high-octane league and tournament. In a unique opportunity, ten students will be scouted through the championships who will be trained by Crystal Palace FC trainers in London for a week later this year.
SFC, a brainchild of Just For Kicks & Soccer Connections, is supported by Tata Motors who recently roped in Lionel Messi as their Global Brand Ambassador. SFC is also being held in association with Ranbir Kapoor backed Indian Super League Club Mumbai City FC.
In the finals, the Greenwood High Under-12 Boys team beat BD Somani Jaguars, Mumbai 8-3 while Greenwood High Under-10 Girls team beat Shivam Wildcats, Mumbai 7-1 to win the national level championship.
Among the boys, Suman S Dev was awarded the Man of the Match twice while Ruhaan Tumang won a Golden Ball as the player of the Tournament. Amongst the girls, Triya Menon won a Golden Ball as the player of the Tournament.
