FICCI congratulates Prime Minister Modi on the launch of GSAT-9 satellite

NEW DELHI: FICCI on Friday congratulated Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on the launch of the South Asia Satellite (GSAT-9), in keeping with a vision that he had articulated in the year 2015.
“It is a historic occasion and shows that even the sky is not the limit when it comes to regional cooperation. The launch of GSAT-9 is a game changer initiative that would go a long way towards enhancing regional connectivity which is key to the development of our neighbouring countries. This is a testimony to the Prime Minister’s commitment to the “Neighbourhood First Policy”, envisioned at the beginning of his tenure in 2014. FICCI is confident that the launch of this satellite ushers in a new era of regional co-operation, ” said Mr.Pankaj Patel, President, FICCI.
FICCI takes immense pride at the launch of this Satellite which is India’s gift to South Asian nations and has been funded entirely by India.
The launch will improve disaster and telecommunication links in the region and weather forecasting services between six south Asian countries. It will help achieve effective communication, better governance, better banking services and better education in remote areas.
