FDP on Enhancing Effective Communication Skills in English

Jalandhar, November 28, 2017: With a view to strengthen and enhance the English Speaking and Writing Skills of the Faculty Members from various departments of the college, KMV The Heritage Institution(Autonomous) organised a Ten Day Workshop, under the dynamic leadership, motivation and inspiration from Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi.
The workshop was conducted under the aegis of the PG Department of English and under the supervision and guidance of the Head of the Department, Ms. Seema Jain. The resource person for the programme was Ms. Anukiran Khanna, Lecturer in English at KMV. During the workshop, interactive and engagingly meaningful sessions were held covering various aspects of Spoken English, discussion of important rules related to various aspects of Grammar, Formal and Informal Letter writing etc.
Addressing the participants on this occasion, the Principal highlighted the significance of developing good Communication Skills in contemporary scenario, especially for teachers from all disciplines, in order to be good communicators with students. A teacher’s profession requires lifelong learning and honing of various skills to be able to effectively nurture student leaders of tomorrow. She also lauded the efforts of the English Department, especially the contribution of Ms. Seema Jain in painstakingly devising the structure of the workshop and Ms. Anukiran Khanna in involving and sustaining the interest of the participating Faculty Members, by using multiple methodologies. The attendees expressed their sense of gratitude for this initiative and were appreciative of this great learning experience. Ms. Seema Jain assured the Principal that the department would continue to take such initiatives in future as well. Dr Madhumeet wad also present on the occasion.
