Ludhiana, January 30, 2016: Edward Young, an 18th century poet, insightfully observed the compulsion of parting and the management and the staff of Ramgarhia Girls College experienced the same when its three precious gems: Principal, Dr (Mrs) Narinder Sandhu, Associate Professor, Dr (Mrs) Swarn Grewal and Office Superintendent, S. Mohan Singh, were bidden adieu on 30th January 2016. Whereas on the one hand the staff was happy that they completed their respective tenures with dignity, on the other hand, they experienced the pangs of separation. The crooners of the PG Dept. of Music Vocal added charm to the evening with their soulful voices. S. Ranjodh Singh, President and S. Jagtar Singh, General Secretary of Ramgarhia Educational Council, congratulated them on reaching the zenith of their respective careers prolifically. They said that the services that Dr Narinder Sandhu rendered to the institution as a Prof. of Hindi and as a Principal were of immense value. They further averred that Dr Swarn Grewal made worthy contribution in shaping the young minds that entered the portals of the institution and S. Mohan Singh always strived to make the functioning of the college smooth. In her speech, Dr Narinder Sandhu said that as she walked down the memory lane, the enriching and pleasant time spent at the college filled her heart with happiness and that her experience as a teacher and an administrator has made her what she is today. She added that she was humbled by the love and respect she had received from everyone in the college. Dr Swarn Grewal averred that every day spent at the college had given her memories worth cherishing forever and that she would remain indebted to the college for providing her with an opportunity work for the noble cause of education. S. Mohan Singh said that the college had become a part of his identity and that he was glad to have served the institution. On the behalf of all the staff members, Prof. Jaspaul Kaur, Assoc. Prof. of Punjabi, gave them her best wishes for the next phase of their life. She said that the staff took pride in having worked under the stewardship of an able administrator like Dr Sandhu and that the strong bond that they had established with her would always remain intact. She said that an intellectual and down-to-earth person like Dr Grewal would be missed dearly and S. Mohan Singh would also be remembered fondly by every staff member.
