FASII welcomes railway budget 2014-15

Ludhiana, June 8, 2014: Federation of Associations of Small Industries of India (FASII) has welcomed the railway budget 2014-15.
In a statement here today, the FASII national president Badish Jindal said most of the demands made by FASII during Budget Meeting & meeting with Railway Minister were fulfilled.
“The Railway Budget is more practical and is in right direction”, he remarked.
He added the major demands have been accepted. It includes FDI in Railways and Development of Railways with BOT system through PPP model.
“Automated rebate management system for returning freight coaches will be very helpful for the industry of Punjab”, he hoped.
He added the government has enhanced the target from freight share of railways in total freight share from 30 to 40% is a welcome step. “This will bring the required finances for the development of Railways”, he said.
Further, he said the mandatory e-procurement above 25 lacs will bring the corruption down in the department, adding, FASII also welcomes the decision of Ministry to run the Railway Board professionally by making working groups. “This will bring down the corruption”, he remarked.
The idea of generating funds with market capital is also a welcome step, he said, adding the time bound fulfillment of projects will surely saves a huge sum of the ministry of Railways.
FASII also welcomes the role of Corporate and NGOs in providing the services to the old age people at railway stations by trolleys or elevators, said Jindal.
The sanitation by private companies will surely improves the looks of the Railways, he further hoped.
The add-on of 21,000 new RPF staff will enhance the safety of the passengers, and the recruitment of 4,000 women officers is a welcome step, he added.
The Wi-fy Connectivity and office work facility in trains is an appreciable step, he said, adding, the facility of RO water at stations and trains will surely facilitate the passengers.
The Food Zones at stations, pre cooked food of branded companies, certified food from NABCB, are welcome steps, he also said.
The new corpus creation for a fund of 5 lac crores through market, FDI and PPP is a welcome step, he said, adding CCTV camera controls for security and cleanliness is also a welcome step.
