Ferozepur, July 29, 2013: Due to heavy rains in the upper hills of Himachal and in Punjab, the flow of water in Satluj River has increased and paddy  and vegetable fields alongwith Ferozepur-Fazilka Indo Pak border are flooded with water in about 400 acres area adjoining the Muhar Jamsher village.  The direction of flow of water towards the village has created worry among the farmers.

According to the boat runners of the area, for the last two days, the level of water in Sutlej River has increased.

The village Muhar Jamsher, which is connected from three sides with Indo-Pak border and one side by the river  is likely to be cut off from the rest of the India as the work on bridge is still under construction. There is only one boat sailor to ferry the villagers.  The direction of Sutlej River is like this that it once enters in the Pakistan area and then again comes back towards Indian side which poses a big problem to the villages adjoining the international border.
