Jalandhar, January 19, 2016: Following its vision to be globally acclaimed centre of excellence in technical education & research, DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jalandhar came up with yet another educational marvel in the form of an interactive session by faculty delegation of Dongguk University, South Korea. Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Assistant  Professor, Department of Semiconductor Science, Dongguk University, Seoul, South Korea alongwith Ms. Kim Yeon Hee and Mr. Sanjeeb Kumar visited the DAVIET campus and interacted with students of the institute. Dr. Manoj Kumar, Principal, Sh. Gaurav Dhuria, HOD Mechanical Engg Deptt., Dr. Neeru Malhotra, HOD – ECE, Dr. Kanchan L. Singh, HOD Applied Sciences, Heads of various Departments and faculty members of DAVIET, Jalandhar were present during the interactive session
Dr Manoj Kumar welcomed the guest speakers in his address and underscored the importance of research & technical collaboration in the present times while patting the backs of the DAVIET faculty members for realizing this significance and giving it such a wonderful vent. He also emphasized the significance of inter disciplinary approach in all the current developments in the field of science and technology through the evolution of automation starting from a simple machines and finally to the Modern Automatic machines. 
Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, a Best Professor awardee and an accomplished researcher with numerous published research papers in high impact factor journals, in his orientation address spoke about the smart materials especially its applications. He apprised the students about research avenues in Nanotechnology and smart materials. He enlightened the students about semi conductor materials & their chemo sensor applications. He also gave an overview to the students about engineering education system in South Korea & apprised them about opportunities available in PG & doctorate courses in South Korea for the young technocrats. 
Later the faculty delegation of South Korea visited the Nanotechnology and Research Lab of the institute and interacted with the researchers and faculty members working on various projects in the lab. The delegation also suggested for joint research projects with their University and provided the necessary guidelines for the same to the researchers. Dr. Sharma also offered to help the young researchers on carrying out the testing/investigation of the samples at Dongguk University on facilities which otherwise might not be available in DAVIET or nearby.
