ESRI gives presentation on GIS based services to Municipal Corporation Ludhiana

Ludhiana, July 14, 2016: A team of representatives from ESRI gave a presentation on the geographic information system (GIS) based services to the officials of Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana on Thursday.
The representatives from ESRI exhibited a detailed presentation on GIS services. They also played a video in this regard.
They told about GIS services in various fields such as traffic management, parking management, water supply, sewerage monitoring and power management.
They even told the officials about the fact that they can increase revenue through water supply and sewerage with the help of the GIS.
Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria raised queries whether they would utilise already available GIS data or conduct fresh survey.
The representatives of ESRI informed that they would fill the gaps in the old survey and prepare new report.
The additional municipal commissioner, Surabhi Malik asked about the various services and their implementation.
The Additional Commissioner, Davinder Singh, SE Pawan Sharma, XEN Rahul Gagneja, JE Adhish Bansal and officials from Punjab Remote Sensing Center (PRSC), were among those present.
Municipal Commissioner, Ghanshyam Thori hoped that GIS would help to increase efficiency in many areas such as increasing revenue from the water and property tax so they would work on the proposals under smart city mission.
