Ludhiana, May 25, 2016: The persons who fought for safeguarding the rights of Punjab (from June 26, 1975 to March 21, 1977) and in Punjabi Suba Morcha (from 1955 to 1965), the Punjab government has already decided to give them financial assistance as well as some other facilities. The Punjab government had sought applications from these persons through the Deputy Commissioner offices and now the state government has simplified the process further.
While providing information, Deputy Commissioner Mr Ravi Bhagat informed that the Punjab government is already providing financial assistance to the Sangharshi Yodha’s and that is why, whole data is being compiled. He said that the process of getting the facilities has been simplified further.
The DC informed that anyone seeking financial assistance or other facilities under this scheme, one has to get the application attested by any former MP/former MLA/MP/MLA/Chairman Zila Parishad/Block Samiti Member/Chairman Panchayat Samiti/village Sarpanch/presidents of urban areas/councillor/Mayor. He said that the above mentioned persons can attest the application stating that the applicant has taken part in the above mentioned Morcha’s.
Mr Ravi Bhagat stated that the applicants can take the performa from the Receipt Branch of DC office and office of concerned SDM and submit it after duly filling it by June 10, 2016. The applicant would have to submit the proof along with his mobile number and the applicant should make sure that he takes receipt of his application.
It is pertinent to mention that the Punjab government is already providing a financial assistance of Rs 1,000 per month to either the Sangharshi Yodha or in case of his death to his wife/husband/family members. Apart from this, they are also entitled to free travel in all government and its undertaking buses. Directions would be issued in all government offices that these persons should be duly entertained there and they would also be formally invited to district level Independence Day and Republic Day functions.
