Employees Allowed Advance From Provident Fund For Higher Education Of Their Wards

Chandigarh, May 29, 2015: The Punjab Government today extended big reprieve to its employees by allowing them to get payments from their respective GPF Accounts for the purpose of higher education of their wards besides giving its nod to provide non-returnable advance to its employees for treatment of employees or their family members removing earlier restrictions in this regard. .

Issuing clarification regarding returnable and non-returnable advance payments from GPF accounts, the Finance Department in a communiqué clarified that employees could get 90 percent non-returnable advance from GPF before their superannuation.      

According to official spokespersons, employees desiring to go for Haj along with their family members could also get non-returnable advance. He said that necessary directions have been issued to all heads of departments, commissioners of divisions, Registrar of Punjab and Haryana High Court, all Deputy Commissioners and all Session Judges.
