Dr. Surjit Patar being given memento at GNDU, Amritsar.
Amritsar, January 29, 2015: Guru Nanak Dev University organised an evening with renowned poet of Punjabi, Surjit Patar in the Guru Nanak Bhawan Auditorium of the University. This programme was organised by the Department of School of Punjabi Studies to give an opportunity to the students and faculty to interact with the poet of repute.
Vice-Chancellor, A.S.Brar presided over. Dr.H.S.Bhatia, Head of the School welcomed the chief guest and others. Besides, Lady Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Saravjit Kaur Brar, Kulwant Singh Suri, Rattanjit Kaur Suri, Jatiner Singh Brar and a large number of students and faculty were present.
Patar said that maximum efforts needed to be done to attract our young generation towards our rich literature and heritage. He also presented some of his poems. On this occasion, Dev Dildar and his troupe recited the poetry of D Patar. A warm interaction session was also held. / (SK Vyas/Jalandhar)
