Ludhiana, October 2, 2014: Dewan Hospital participated in the much needed movement to clean the face of our country defaced by our bad attitudes. Father of our nation Mohan Dass Karam Chand Gandhi was very fond of cleanliness and truth. Our worthy Prime Minister Narinder Modi is encouraging our country citizens to change for better and has started this movement on this day, we welcome it.

The staff of Dewan Hospital & Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery Centre led by Dr Narotam Dewan and Neeta Dewan cleaned the surroundings of Dandi Swami Mandir, Civil Lines, Ludhiana. The place like any other place in our country was littered with polythene, paper pieces, and disposable cup/plates. There were very few dustbins. The team collected all the garbage with brooms and disposed it off in gunny bags.

Dr Narotam Dewan, Consultant Laparoscopic Surgeon, Dewan Hospital advised people of the area to be sensitive towards cleanliness by ensuring proper use of dustbins and insisting upon customers to dispose off  waste things properly. He told them that in whole of Europe and Singapore he has not seen even one piece of garbage on the roads. We are not a stupid or inferior race and our culture and religions preach us to keep our minds, bodies, homes and cities clean so that these places remain fit for God and divine powers to dwell.

Neeta Dewan, Consultant Diet Guide Clinic, Dewan Hospital told the people that this garbage can be potentially harmful for their health. The garbage putrefies and harmful bacteria grow in this which enter out bodies as we breathe.
