A deputation of Haibowal Branch of CPI submits memorandum to Rashpaul Singh, Chief Engineer, PSPCL at Ludhiana on Friday.

Ludhiana, April 24, 2015: A deputation of the Haibowal Branch of the Communist Party of India submitted a memorandum to Rashpaul Singh, Chief Engineer, PSPCL, regarding the problems faced by the people living under the Kitchlu Nagar PSPCL office.  The deputation was led by Com Ramesh Rattan – City Secretary, Com Gurnam Singh Sidhu – Assistant Secretaraies, Com Randhir Singh Dheera, Com Ramadhar Singh, Com Sukhwinder Singh and Com Ravinder Singh. They apprised the chief engineer that the Kitchlu Nagar PSPCL office caters to 65000 connections extending from Ladowal – Jainpur – Malakpur  to Maharaj Nagar and there are only 7 JEs working under this office with 38 other employees (linemen etc.) and only one billing clerk. Further they apprised that there are 65 tube wells under this office, only one vehicle in the night with this office and that the office does not have even long ladders. Besides, with fulltime hard work of these employees 90 to 100 complaints can be dealt with per day  at the maximum and that the L & T workers who have been outsourced the work do the job haphazardly and leave incomplete work in between late in the evening. This causes great inconvenience to the people whole night without electricity. They further pointed out that the office does not have enough stock of material to meet the requirement, during rainy season, hot summer or whenever there is some storm the number of complaints per day goes up to 200 to 250. Under these circumstances the complaints of the people remain unattended causing harassment to the people of the area.

“The chief engineer told the deputation that they are aware of the problems and have taken necessary steps. All the related issues raised will be sorted out completely by 15th May as the PSPCL has floated new contract for this area”, said a party release.
