Ludhiana, December 3, 2015: Aiming at reducing the infant mortality rate and giving quality health care to the expectant mothers in the state, the second phase of "Mission Indradhanush" will be held from December 7-15, 2015. In this phase, 1500 pregnant women and 7500 children would be vaccinated.
A meeting of District level task force in this regard was held at Circuit House, here and was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr Davinder Singh.
The ADC informed that from December 7-15, 2015, 1500 pregnant women and 7500 children would be vaccinated by holding 700 camps.
Civil Surgeon Dr Renu Chhatwal informed that the main aim of Mission Indradhanush is to achieve a target of getting 90 percent infants covered in Punjab under complete immunization programme by 2020. She said that all the left out children below 2 years and expectant mothers would be covered with the vaccination programme.
Prominent among those present in the meeting included District Immunisation Officer Dr Balwinder Singh, District Programme Officer Rupinder Kaur, Dr Gagan Sharma, besides several others.
