Ludhiana, March 15, 2015: IIALC organised seminar on urban planning of Ludhiana in the presence of 150 architects, urban planners, structural engineers, civil engineers, interior designers, builders and experts from construction industry.

Ar Yogesh Singla, Joint Honorary Secretary of IIALC welcomed all the guests in his address and did special welcome of architects from Mumbai, Delhi, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Bathinda, Patiala and Jalandhar.

Ar Bimaldeep Singh, Editor of IIALC explained in detail about topic of seminar and introduced the expert speakers. 

Ar S D Singh Vice Chairman of IIA Chandigarh Punjab chapter was Chief Guest. 

Ar Surinder Bahga councillor from Chandigarh Administration, who was Guest of Honour, in his very detailed presentation explained difference between old cities, unplanned cities and smart cities. He explained how burden of population and amenities are increasing on cities with rapid urbanisation. 

Ar. Sanjay Goel Chairman IIALC and Secy. IIA Chandigarh Punjab chapter in his elaborative presentation throw light on all past and present urban planning problems of Ludhiana city along with solutions including traffic congestion, air, water, noise pollution, flyovers, location of bus stands, railway station, airport, water supply, sewerage, rain water disposal, encroachments, ROBs, RUBs, elevated roads, mixed land use, Buddha Nullah, Sidhwan Canal, recreational areas, city centre, stadiums, parks & Ring Road.

Detailed presentations were also given by experts from seminar organisers ACC Limited including Alok Upadhyay, C.B. Sahu, Dheeraj Goel about role of most technical cement ACC GOLD in modren constructions, which has been found excellent by experts,

Ar. Rajan Tangri, Administration and Coordinator of IIALC alone with Chief Guest and Guest of Honour presented mementoes to all seniors present in the Seminar.

The seminar was attended by Builder Association, Valuer Association, experts from GNE, INIFD and architects includinng Paramjit singh Mahoora, Anmol Pupneja, S.S. Mavi, Arvind Gupta, A.K. Kapoor, Sandeep Grewal, Tarsem Goel, Niranjan Kumar, Amit Sanyal & Baljit Bawa.

CONCLUSIONS OF SEMINAR

Like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore metro cities Ludhiana must have single development agency like Ludhiana Development Authority (LDA) instead of so many agencies like LMC, LIT, GLADA, PUDA, HOUSEFED & PSIEC.

A master plan up to year 2050 minimum to be finalised through expert town planners/architects but must be free from political interference, only then we all can move in right direction for our coming generations.
