A seminar being organised as a part of the campaign for popularisation of mathematics by  Bharat Jan Gyan Vigyan Jatha (BJGVJ) Ludhiana.

 

Ludhiana, November 10, 2015: Mathematics is said to be a useful study for acquiring logical thinking as well as working out how mathematical results can be useful in society. It is a study that nurtures logical thinking for making appropriate predictions for the future in today’s complicated world. Mathematical applications are used in medical science, construction industry, astronomy, architecture, weather forcastings, traffic control and even in agriculture. This was stated by Er.Ruhi Bhatia while addressing the students of SRS Government Polytechnic College  for Girls during a seminar organized as a part of the campaign for popularization of mathematics by  Bharat Jan Gyan Vigyan Jatha (BJGVJ) Ludhiana under the aegis of Punjab State Council for Science & Technology on the theme Contribution of Mathematics in Strengthening Science. Sh. M.S.Bhatia Org. Secretary -BJGVJ told that over 100 students participated in the declamation contest organized on the occasion. A team of  judges comprising Sh. Ranjit Singh Retired Headmaster and National Awardee, Smt. Karamjeet Kaur-Maths teacher from Khalsa Sr. Sec. School for girls, Civil Lines and Smt. Rekha Gupta- Maths teacher of the college gave their judgment. First prize went to Khushbu student of ECE 2nd year, second to Navdeep Kaur student of Computer Engg. Final and third prize to Gagan ECE 2nd year. Maj.Sher Singh Aulakh-President BJGVJ presided over the function. Others who were present include Er. S.P.Singh, Mrs. Gurcharan Kaur Kochar-  National Awardee, Mrs. Inderjeet Pal Kaur, Mrs. Rupinder Kaur. Mr. Jasvir Singh compeered the stage. Er. M.P.Singh-Principal presented vote of thanks and lauded the role of Jatha for constantly building rationalist outlook in the society.
