Declamation contest on Corruption Free India

The Department of Business Management at Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF) in association with UCO Bank, Nauni organised a declamation contest on the theme ‘My Vision- Corruption Free India. Dr Rakesh Gupta, Dean, UHF College of Horticulture was the Chief Guest while Jaspal Sood, Chief Manager, UCO Bank (Zonal Office Shimla) was the Guest of Honour.

The highlight of the programme was the inspiring oral deliberations by students of the department, expressing their opinions and suggestions on how to tackle the menace of corruption. Eleven participants delivered speeches on the topic. The first prize was bagged by Harsh while Bhavya and Shanu won the second and third prizes respectively. Two consolation prizes were given to Richa and Rohini.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rakesh Gupta said that dream of corruption free India can be realized by making it a vision and mission of every citizen. He added that the students have to play a leading role in fulfilling this mission and transforming this country into a role model for the world. In his address, the Guest of honour Jaspal Sood said that corruption-free environment is only possible if honesty and sincerity become the key elements of one’s life. He also gave away the prizes to the winners and participants. Nidhi Sharma, Branch Manager UCO Bank Nauni administered the oath of non-corruption.

Dr Krishan Kumar Raina, Professor and Head, Department of Business Management thanked UCO Bank for their active association and financial support for the conducting such events. Dr OP Sambhar, Emeritus Professor of the University, was also felicitated for his contributions to the University. The faculty and staff of the department and Chandan Attri, Assistant Manager, UCO Bank were also present on the occasion.
