Students participate on Day-IV of Workshop organised by Design Department of Apeejay College of Fine Arts at Jalandhar on Tuesday.

Jalandhar, December 23, 2014: The Department of Design of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar organised a Workshop on Design Skills Enhancement based on Traditional Crafts of Punjab from December 19 to 23 during which expert craftsmen from the State of Punjab were invited to conduct workshops on Wood Craft, Phulkari, Nala Making, Punjabi Jutti and Cane Weaving.  The students learnt the crafts and worked on creating new designs for traditional crafts.  4th Day of the Workshop was dedicated to Cane weaving and learning the construction technique of making Murrah.  The whole procedure from the concept to the finished product which included cutting, heating, scaling and fixing cane was demonstrated to the students by the Craftsman. Dr. Sucharita, Principal of the College stated that today we need to make a collaborative effort to renew and revive the crafts of Punjab.
