CT Waves kicks off with 30-hour long Syberthon
Ludhiana, February 21, 2019: A two day youth fest CT Waves has kicked off with Syberthon event, under Cyber Wellness Centre. The event is a 30-hour, non-stop Hackathon to gather various developer groups to collaborate on challenging programming problems in the field of cyber security. The main attraction is various workshops under the guidance of experts and prototype making competition. Chief Guest of the event was IPS Naunihal Singh, Inspector General of Police. The key note speakers were Dr Kala Baskar, Director, Centre Forensics & Information Security, University of Madras; Prem Ojha, CEO, Netplus Broadband Service and Mahesh Balakrishnan, Information Security Consultant, Chennai along with dignitaries from CT University. Various teams from Rayat Bahra Group of Institutes, Lovely Professional University, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology and CT Group of Institutions, Jalandhar participated. IPS Naunihal Singh, Chief Guest appreciated the initiative taken and said that such ideas from young minds can be quite useful in the cyber security of nation at large. Giving the welcome address, Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor, said, “Syberthon is a cyber hack fest aimed at providing a platform to discuss, showcase, educate and spread awareness on the latest trends in information, cyber and hi-tech crimes.” The winners for prototype making competition will be awarded with Rs. 50,000, Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 20,000 for first, second and third positions respectively. On this occasion, Charanjit S Channi, Chancellor CT University, Managing Director Manbir Singh, Vice Chairman Harpreet Singh, Deputy IT Director Munish Kaushal were also present. The teams from various institutes will compete for fashion show, business plan and war of bands tomorrow in the university campus, followed by live performance by singer Rajvir Jawanda.
