CT Group of Institutions & Punjab Jagrati Manch celebrates 50th Punjab Day

Jalandhar, November 1, 2016: Celebrating the efforts to promote mother language Punjabi, CT Group of Institutions, on Tuesday celebrated 50th Punjab Day in collaboration with Punjab Jagrati Manch at Sardarni Manjit Kaur Auditorium, Shahpur Campus. The seminar was headed by Prof. Bikran Singh Virk (Department of Commerce, Government College, Kapurthala), Mr.Deepak Bali, Dr.Sucha Singh Gill (Professor, CRRID), Sh.Satnam Singh Manek (Executive Editor, Daily Ajit), Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal (Kali Bein and Environmentalist) and Sh.Pyara Singh (President, Punjab Jagrati Manch, Jalandhar). S.Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions), Mr.Manbir Singh (Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions) with other management members also obliged the event with their presence.

While addressing students, Prof. Bikran Singh Virk (Department of Commerce, Government College, Kapurthala) said, “The farmers are struggling for their rights. Severe degradation of the natural resources like water, soil and energy is letting us behind in the race of development. Within 50 years, a lot of changes has been found in our state. Earlier the drinking water was at its minimum depth but it has increased upto 250ft. ” He also informed the students about the degradation of resources and water facilities in the state.

In the seminar, Sh. Satnam Singh Manek (Executive Editor, Daily Ajit) said, “The attachment between us and our mother language is going under weak circumstances; we need to promote Punjabi language and culture as these are our identity.” He said, “The Day aims at enabling the youth to realize the true worth of their mother tongue and persuade them to take pride in it by helping them indulge in various literary activities, including poetry recitation, folk songs, calligraphy and declamation.”
Mr. Pyara Singh on this occasion said that, “a great responsibility lies on the shoulders on the youth generation”. He motivated students for taking duties and wishes to do excel in every field. He said that the emphasis was on development and promotion of Punjabi language through dedicated efforts. “Punjabi is one of the most popular spoken languages in the world. It has a rich vocabulary and forms the basis of our cultural identity. So, we should adopt it with dignity and encourage youngsters to speak and identify with it just as they do with English or any other language,” added Mr. Pyara Singh

Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal (Kali Bein and Environmentalist) informed the students about the models of Seechewal. He asked everyone to take care of the environment, plant trees, nurture them .He said that everyone should work towards the green and clean environment so that our future generation can live in a pollution free and safe environment.

S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) wished all students and said, “I appreciate Punjabi Jagrati Manch for their association on this special occasion and assured future collaboration.” He expressed gratitude and said that, “Everyone should be proud for this day. As we are building the future of our state, I urge everyone should take their responsibilities for the betterment of Punjab and its culture.”

On this event, famous Sufi Singer Duo Nooran Sisters spell bound the audience with their mesmerizing performance.
