Jalandhar, April 14, 2015: Keeping up with the tradition of celebrating all the festivals with great fervour and gaiety and apprising the student of their rich culture and heritage Baisakhi celebrations were held in CT Group of Institutions on Monday.

On the occasion, students attired in Punjabi dresses performed various cultural items including Bhangra, Qwalis and sung religious songs on the beats of Dhol.

Dhol beats and Punjabi folk music added to their excitement. Some students read out papers related to Baisakhi, Sikhism and Swami Dayanand Sarswati. The Campus premises were aptly decorated depicting the harvest season. Students were explained about the importance of this festival by faculty members.

Manbir Singh (Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions) highlighted the importance of the festival. He said, “It was a treat to see the students dressed in colourful Punjabi traditional outfits and participating in the celebrations with great fervor.”

To make the festival more special, community Lunch was organised for the Class IV employees of CT Group. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) motivated the staff and students to cherish the true spirit of the occasions. He said that Baisakhi was not only a harvest festival but also an auspicious day as on this very day Guru Gobind Singh had established the 'Khalsa Panth'.
