CRIME: Two prisoners run away from Central Jail lock-up

Ferozepur, January 11, 2013:  On Friday after, two prisoners,  under lock-up in Central Jail run away, who were under-trials in the cases of smuggling under NDPS Act and intention of murder cases. 

Both these prisoners were being brought back from the civil hospital after check-up.  

Immediately on getting the information, Lakhbir Singh, SP (HQ), Gurdip Singh, SHO reached on the spot and started investigating into the matter.

As per the sources, Gurjant Singh alias Bholu son of Shavinder Singh and Rachhpal Singh alias Dana son of Dalbir Singh resident of Havelia, Sarai Amanat Khan, district Tarn Taran were under lock-up at Central Jail, Ferozepur in smuggling under NDPS Act and attempt to murder.  For the last few days, these smugglers were pressing for check up from the hospital and on Friday morning, three jails officials taken them in ambulance of the Jail to civil hospital.  After getting them checked up, when the jail officials were bringing them back to the jail on foot situated nearby. About 10-12 persons gheraoed the jail officials and took away both the prisoners by disengaging from them.
