WATER level in Bhakra Dam 84.65 feet higher than last year

Chandigarh, July 10, 2013: The water level in the Bhakra Dam today recorded at a level of 1629.87 feet against 1545.22 feet last year on the same day. Water level is 84.65 feet more than as it was last year on the same day.

Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the irrigation department said that the water level of pong Dam has been recorded at 1340.68 feet which is 48.61 feet more than it was recorded last year that is 1292.07 feet. Similarly the water level of Ranjit Sagar Dam on 10 July, 2013 touched 511.92 meter mark which is 11.76 meter more than the water level recorded last year on the same day that is 500.16.

He further said that the inflow of water in Bhakra is 62150 cusec against 35765 last year and the release from Bhakra Dam is 37167 cusec against 28569 cusec last year. Inflow of water in pong Dam has been recorded as 30503 cusec against 16094 cusec and release from pong dam is 10008 against 14307 on the same day last year whereas inflow of water in Ranjit Sagar Dam is 11688 cusec against 10405 cusec and release from Ranjit Sagar Dam is 12598 cusec against 10302 cusec release on the same day last year.
