Ludhiana, November 17, 2015: To commemorate the great sacrifices of our martyrs who laid down their lives for the country, Shaheed Krantikari Shatabdi Aayojan Samiti 2015, an NGO, organised a function on November 16 at the auditorium of KVM School, Ludhiana, in commemoration of martyrdom centenary of Kartar Singh Sarabha, Vishnu Ganesh Pingle and Jagat Singh Sursingh, with the support of Jan Chetna, another NGO. These three patriots were hanged to death on 16th November, 1915 at Central Jail, Lahore. This Samiti has organised a series of programmes throughout the country in this centenary year of 109 martyrs (Highest in a single year after 1857),martyred in 1915 by the then British Government.
The programme was graced by Governor Himachal Pradesh, Acharya Devvrat,  who paid his regards for the great martyrs of the nation. He recalled their supreme sacrifices made to liberate the country from the foreign yoke. It was their contribution that infused a new life among the people to raise their voices against the Britishers and forced them to leave the country in 1947. He exhorted the people to inculcate values of patriotism, sacrifice, service and love so as to contribute to build India as super power to lead the world to new heights of humanity, peace and brotherhood. Dr. Dev Singh Advaiti of Bhartiya Valmiki Dharam Samaj emphasised that these martyrs stood above caste, colour and creed to devote everything for the nation. We should let not go their sacrifices in vain, should unitedly fight,  weaknesses in the society and make dreams of the patriots come true. Member Parliament  Sh. Avinash Rai Khanna, highlighted the achievements of these martyrs that how in all odds they dared to challenge the British might, even went abroad to garner support and came back to kiss the gallows, face bullets and tortures of the imperialists.  
The audience represented all sections of the society. Some people came all the way from Odisha to participate in the function. A play on martyrs “Mera Yaar” was presented by Ludhiana Kala Manch. Family members of many martyrs e.g.Kartar Singh Sarabha, Vishnu Ganesh Pingle, Jagat Singh Sursingh, Banta Singh Sanghwal, Pt. Kanshi Ram Maroli, Prem Singh Sursingh, Mewa Singh Lopoke, Inder Singh Shahbazpur, Buddh Singh Dhotian and Harnam Singh Thatthikhara were honoured. An exhibition displaying photographs and list of martyrs was also held. 
Sarv shri/smt. Rachpal singh namdhari, Ravinder Bhardwaj, Dr. Rajiv Gupta, Yashgiri, Pankaj Jindal, Jaspal Singh, CA Subhash Jain, Seema Gupta, Haripal Gupta, Jyoti Khera, Nerotma Modgil, Dr. Vinay Sophat, Suriti Verma, Pardeep Manocha Ashwani Sahota, Balwinder Ravi etc., contributed significantly to make the programme a success.
