College of Nursing, CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana celebrates Nurses Day

Ludhiana, May 12, 2018: College of Nursing, CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana celebrated Nurses Day on 12th May 2018 organized by TNAI (Trained Nurses Association) and SNA (Student Nurses Association) Unit on the theme “Nurses: A Voice to Lead – Health is a Human Right”. Mrs.Madhu Gupta, Chief Corporate Social Responsibility, Trident Group graced the occasion as the chief guest and appreciated the nurses for their hard work which they do for the patients. The guest of honor for the day was Ms.S.K.N.J.Singh, Former Professor, College of Nursing, CMC, Ludhiana. Dr.Reena Jairus, Acting Principal, College of Nursing, emphasized that nurses are considered as role models, kind hearted and caring people who promote healing and provide compassionate care to the patients.
Dr. William Bhatti, Director, CMC & Hospital, also encouraged the nurses and laid emphasis on the role of nurses. Mrs. Balqis Victor, President, Trained Nurses' Association Of India(TNAI, Local branch), CMC Unit unfolded the theme. She talked about the role of nurse in meeting the health needs of every human being. A panel discussion was organized on the theme and panelists were Mrs. Ritu P. Naihar (Assoc. Professor), Mrs. Shehnaz Johnson (Asstt. Professor), Mrs. Ashima Chugh (Asstt. Professor), Mrs. Sangeeta Nichols (Asstt. Professor) and Mr. Abhishek Suroy (Clinical Instructor).
International Nurses Week was celebrated from 06th to 12th May, 2018 and week-long activities were planned by TNAI and SNA Units (Local Branch). Activities were conducted during the week under guidance of Faculty College of Nursing, CMC & Hospital, and Ludhiana. Procedure Demonstration on Neonatal Resuscitation was held on 7th May 2018, by Child Health Nursing & Ambulance Mobike And Rescue Services (AMARS) Department. Workshop on Leadership and a Panel Discussion was also organized on 8th May 2018.
A Quiz on Drugs & Instruments used in Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing was held on 10th May 2018. A Quiz from Nursing Foundations Subject titled Inquisitive was held on 11th May 2018. Poster exhibition was done by TNAI members on 12th May, Ms. Ginni, Ms. Sonia Banga and Mr. Rajan Mall, (bagged First, Second & Third Prizes respectively. A ward evaluation was done for the best ward was Private Medical Ward was awarded the best ward. Prizes were given away to the winners.
