CMC observes International Women’s Day
Ludhiana, March 8, 2019: International Women’s Day is celebrated across the world on 8th March every year. This year it was celebrated with a great fervor in the premises of College of Nursing at Christian Medical College & Hospital on the theme “Balance for Better”. Dr.Bharti Uppal, Associate Medical Superintendent was the chief guest and Female Ward Aides were the participants for the occasion. Dr.Reena Jairus, Principal, College of Nursing, in her welcome address said that, it is always proud being woman. She appreciated the nations who began to celebrate Women’s Day. Dr. Bharti Uppal addressed the gathering and emphasized that this is the day when we acknowledge the achievements of women in various fields like economics, political & social lines etc. Dr. William Bhatti, Director encourage the gathering by remembering the hard work of Dr. Edith Mary Brown, Dr. Francis and Dr. Ida Sophia Scudder. Mrs. Sapna D. Malviya, Associate Professor unfolded the theme and spoke about giving equal rights to women that will make better working world. Mrs. Aster K. Masih, Assistant Professor, Mrs. Mizrab Chaudhary and Mrs. Elizabeth Scott, Clinical Instructors highlighted the theme through presentations. Mrs. Prem Lata Prakash, Associate Professor encourage the gathering with a poem “Mein Naari Hoon”. At the end Mrs. Ritu P. Naihar, Associate Professor appreciated the hard work of Ward Aides & their contribution in taking care of patients by helping the health care team. She also thanked the gathering.
