CM orders probe into fire break incident in Punjab Civil Secretariat-2

Chandigarh, March 17, 2013: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today asked the Secretary, General Administration Dr Roshan Sunkaria to thoroughly probe into the incident of fire break in the record room on the Seventh floor of Punjab Civil Secretariat- 2 here at sector 9 on Sunday.

Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that the Chief Minister directed Dr Sunkaria to ascertain the causes and circumstances which led to this incident besides suggesting remedial measures to ensure that such incidents were not repeated in future.  Badal also asked the Secretary General Administration to submit the inquiry report regarding the mishap within a week.

Earlier in the day on the directions of the Chief Minister, his Principal Secretary SK Sandhu personally visited the Punjab Civil Secretariat-2 to ascertain the loss due to the breaking of fire and supervised the operation carried out by the Chandigarh administration to extinguish the fire.
