Shimla, July 4, 2017: Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today inaugurated a new Ultra Modern branch of Himachal Pradesh State Co-operative bank at Mashobra in Kasumpati assembly constituency and an ATM as well. With this, the total branches of the bank in the state has gone up to 231 with a total of 78 ATMs of the bank.

Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister said that the bank was doing well and had earned a good name for the state within a short span of time. "I am happy to know that the bank was placed in 'A' 'grade category and honoured with best performing bank of the state", he said. He said that about 10 branches of the bank would soon be opened in the state in near future.

He exhorted people to develop Banking habits for various monetary transactions and for loan purposes.

The Chief Minister along with MPP and Power Minister Sujan Singh Pathania also dedicated Rs.12 crore 66 KV electric sub station to the people. This would facilitate the villagers of Mashobra, Baldeyaan, Durgapur, Neen, Dhali, Moolkoti, Cherri, Gumma and Kufri Panchayats with reliable and quality power.

He said that a population of 70 thousand of 60 villages would be benefitted by the newly installed electric sub station.

MLA Anirudh Singh also addressed the gathering on the occasion and thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating the bank branch to the people of the area and the 66KV Sub station in his constituency. The electric sub station would help solve the low voltage problem and benefit nine panchayats of the area, he said. The MLA aslo listed other developments of the area.

Chairman, State Co-operative bank Harsh Mahajan said that the bank was included in the list of scheduled banks and was placed in 'A' grade category and adjudged as the best performing Co-operative bank of the State. Besides this bank was also honoured with the award of the best governed bank of India in Co-operative sector, he added.

He said that ultra modern ATMs had been installed in the branch at Mashobra. As of today there were 78 ATMs of the bank facilitating the people.

He said that the business of the bank had increased to Rs. 13.852 crore with net profit of Rs 164 crore in the current fiscal year with total growth rate of 63 percent.

He said all the facilities of a nationalised bank were being provided by the Co-operative bank to the people of the State.

He said Core Banking Solution (CBS), RTGS,NEFT , Mobile Banking Internet Banking and other facilities were being provided by Co-operative bank.

Managing Director, Gopal Sharma, Members BoD Keshav Naik, Bharat Bhushan, Ms Gurja Sharma, Iqbal Mohammad , Diwan Sharma were ao present on the occasion amongst others.
