Cleanliness Campaign by GKU Students in Bathinda

Talwandi Sabo, May 12, 2016: NSS Unit of Guru Kashi Univerity, Talwandi Sabo organized a Cleanliness campaign at Dadi Poti Park in Bathinda. Approx 100 volunteers of NSS Unit s from various colleges of GKU participated in the campaign along with Dr. N.S Malhi (VC, GKU). Volunteers started work at 6.30 a.m. under the coordinator ship of Prof. S.S. Kaurra & Prof. Satpal Singh.

Morning walkers in the park duly appreciated the activity by the University they also advised to carry on this in the other public parks and public places also. In the span of 3 hours students picked wrappers, bottles, straws and dry/useless vegetation and arranged the suitable place. Prof. Satpal Singh, Yoga Teacher GKU also demonstrated some yoga tips to the daily visitors along with the students. Gurdev Singh Kot Fatta, Admin Officer GKU did fantabulous arrangements for the activity.

S. Sukhraj Singh Sidhu (MD, GKU) lauded the efforts of staff and students for this initiative and he further stated that such camps automatically develop sense of cleanliness among the students. He also assured that such more camps in the city in near future will be organized so that cause of social responsibility must be pertained by the GKU.

Dr N.S Malhi congratulated the students for this social activity & also appreciated the efforts of Prof. SS Kaura (PRO), Prof. Satpal Singh, Dr. Kavita and Rajpal Singh Khalsa for arranging & motivating the students for these praiseworthy efforts.
