S.Upkar Singh Ahuja President-CICU mentioned Robots are very successful, but installation is very low in India IN 2016 Industrial Robots installed were 0.1% of Indian industrial workforce, i.e 16026. A study proves that the use of robotics will increase 22000 units by 2022, Approx. 48% robots are deployed in welding/soldering @30% in handling, 22% in other jobs. 2017 world robots statics show, India robots density per 10000 workers are very low. South Korea 631, Singapore 488, Germany 309, Japan 303, Sweden 223, Denmark 211, U.S.A 189, Italy 185, Taiwan 177, China 68, Thailand 45, India 3, World average 74. Cost of Welding Robot Machine with Accessories is Rs.15 Lac approx. Robot has more speed and efficient as compared to Human Beings. Return on Investment (ROI) in 17 Months. Robot Operator at 16% cost compared to Manual Welder. Also saving in E.S.I,P.F etc.

Mr.Pankaj Sharma, General Secretary-CICU mentioned Robots can work in work in environment even not feasible humans like Hot steel working, acidic area etc. Robots are very popular in welding for car & trucks. The development of intelligent interface can lead to new kind of robots, which are more flexible & not automatable with present robots.

Sh.J.S Bhogal Publicity Secretary-CICU informed that CICU will shortly form a Centre for excellence for manufacturers, which will help the industries to address various issues related to manufacturing.

A High level delegation from Panasonic Welding System, Mr. Shigeki Yonemori, Div. Managing Director, Mr. Sumit Chanda, Associate Director, Mr. Avdesh Jha, Sr. Manager Sales, providing robots support to industry in Punjab, along with Mr. Amarjit Singh, Assistant Manager-Robot Sales (North) and Mr. Gaurav Singh, Sr. Executive-Sales to discuss the problems faced by industry for using robots, like high cost of equipment, fixing & integration cost, costly spare parts, training of manpower & endurance of robotics.

Panasonic Team in their presentation mentioned that the Panasonic technology with less spatters and better penetration and also assured that Panasonic will address all the issues raised by CICU Members to give best services.
