CICU conducts interactive meeting with Commissioner of Police and Team

Ludhiana, November 14, 2014: An interactive meeting with Pramod Ban, Commissioner of Police Ludhiana with Captains of Ludhiana Industry was held late last evening at CICU Complex, Focal Point, Ludhiana. On the occasion, CICU president Avtar Singh highlighted the major problems being faced by industrialists in Focal Point area Ludhiana as under:
?  Every year specially during winter season theft of scrap, other raw material and finished products, during night is revealing upward trend. It is reported that there is strong nexus of burglars with the dealers operating in Focal Point area. It is estimated that Ludhiana industry is suffering loss to the tune of 1% of its annual revenue. 
?  Large number of snatching incidents specially during salary and advance payment days to factory workers is on the rise.
?  Regular traffic jams at major roads specially near Dhandari Fly Over and Giaspura Railway Crossing due to unauthorized parking of heavy vehicles blocking almost 50% of metal roads is causing great hindrance in smooth movement of traffic. 
Upkar Singh Ahuja, General Secretary, Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU), Ludhiana said that the need of the our is to coordinate and enforce strict measures to minimize snatching & theft rates and to avoid traffic snarls as under.
?    Police Naka should be enforced at vulnerable locations.
?    Police Pickets should be permanently deployed at selected places.
?    Police patrolling during salary payment from 7th to 10th and advance payment from 20th to 25th days of each month to factory workers and night hours should be held regular basis.
?    Monitoring of General Intelligence regarding Law & Order should be upgraded.
?    Unauthorised parking of heavy vehicles on major metal roads during morning from 8AM to 10 AM and evening from 6 PM to 8 PM and irregular parking should be penalised so that traffic congestion is resolved amicably.
Parmod Ban, Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana said:
?  Workable solutions of the above mentioned problems highlighted in this interaction will be provided by chalking out proper plans within 2-3 days by holding discussions with the concerned police officials.
?  He informed that a team of experts will survey the traffic menace and advise measures to regulate it smoothly. 
?  The need of the hours is to cooperate whole heartedly by all the concerned for ensuring smooth movement of traffic in the Focal Point area.
?  The corrective measures will be enforced in right prospective by implementing the relevant laws.
