FASII: Two-day Bank Strike to affect clearing worth Rs.8000 crores

Ludhiana, February 10, 2014: Federation of Associations of Small Industries of India (FASII) National President Badish Jindal has strongly condemned the Bank Strike, since last few months this is becoming a regular practice, Banking is an integral part of trade and industry and with such strike the working of industries almost get halted.
In a statement here on Monday, he added with the two day bank strike (February 10-11) the clearing worth Rs.1800 crores will just be affected in Ludhiana and the overall impact on Punjab will be more than Rs.8000 crores.
The Trade and Industry will have to pay an unnecessarily interest even on the payments in their hands in form of cheques and pay-orders, he added.
The months of closing quarters are very important for trade & industry as during these months the industry has to complete its supply & export commitments, said Jindal.
“We have requested the Chairman RBI that no interest should be charged on any kind of advances for these two days”, he said, adding, the Banks & the Government are responsible for these strikes then why the industry should suffer for this.
