Christmas celebrations at DPS Indirapuram take place.

Noida, December 23, 2015: Delhi Public School Indirapuram celebrated Christmas in a Special Assembly on Wednesday. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr.V.K.Shunglu, Chairman DPS Society and Chairman Managing Committee DPS Indirapuramand DPS R.N.Extension. The occasion was also graced by Mrs. Shunglu as the Guest of Honour. Other esteemed luminaries present were Mr.Abhishek Bansaland Mr.Hardayal Singh, Members Managing Committee DPS Indirapuram; Ms.PreetiSinghal, Parent Representative, Managing Committee DPS Indirapuram, Ms.Indira Kohli, Principal DPS GautamBudh Nagar, Dr. Ruchi Seth, Principal, Lotus Valley International School and Ms. Geeta Shankar, Former Head Mistress, DPS Indirapuram.
In keeping with the mood of celebrations, the school auditorium and foyer were artistically adorned with Christmas trees, candy canes, stockings, mistletoe and holly leaves. The soft sound of carols permeated the air creating a heavenly ambience as children dressed like Santa Claus spread radiance of Christmas. 
The celebrations commenced with the mellifluous choristers of DPS Indirapuram ushering in the Christmas spirit with their soul-stirring rendition of popular age-old carols. The Chief Guest, Mr. V.K.Shunglu, the Guest of Honour, Mrs. Shunglu, the school Principal, Mrs. Meeta Rai and the other dignitaries lit the candles invoking the blessings of the Almighty.
The school Principal, Mrs. Meeta Rai welcomed the honoured guests and thanked them for being present to share the joys of this blessed season. Sharing the true essence of Christmas, she urged the students to learn the gift of giving, the gift of forgiveness and the gift of love and prayers. She further appealed to them to make this Christmas a special one by kindling the flame of charity and making a difference in the lives of the lesser fortunate ones. She reiterated that DPS Indirapuram stands committed to ensure that they grow up to be good human beings and responsible citizens. 
The young dancers of DPS Indirapuram heralded the festive mood by dancing merrily to the tune of ‘Bailamos’. The students of the school also presented a short film – ‘The Joy of Giving’, showcasing the real essence of Christmas which lies in being generous. 
To mark the birth of the Prince of Peace, the students presented the Nativity Play, depicting the birth of baby Jesus in the humble manger, the arrival of the three wise men, the shepherds watching their flock and the angels who spread the message of the birth of the Redeemer, recreating beautifully what happened thousands of years ago on that cold wintry night. This was followed by the School Choir sharing the joys of this blessed season with their melodious notes;the Santa arriving with his jingling bells, showering gifts and goodies; the exciting reindeer dance to the tune of ‘Rudolph the red nosed Reindeer’ and the resplendent Christmas dance by the School Dance Troupe.
The Chief Guest Mr. V.K.Shungluin his address,shared the history of Christmas with the students and exhorted them to be ambassadors of peace and spread goodwill amongst their fellow beings.  
The celebrations drew to a close with a vote of thanks by the School Vice Principal, Mrs. Sangeeta Hajela.
