CGC Jhanjeri pays Homage to Kargil War Heroes

Mohali, July 26, 2018: Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri celebrated 19th Anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas by paying respectful homage to the heroes of Kargil war. The occasion was marked with mixed feelings. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC and other senior functionaries of CGC Jhanjeri laid wreaths in the feet of the brave heroes who laid down their lives to maintain the dignity & honour of Mother India. Some of these martyrs included Capt Vikram Batra, Lt Manoj Pandey & Rifleman Sanjay Kumar, all decorated with the country’s top honour Param Vir Chakra, Major Rajesh Singh Adhikari honored with Maha Vir Chakra & Major Mariappan Saravanan, Capt Haneef-u-ddin, Capt Anuj Nayyar, Squadron Leader Ajay Ahuja and Hawaldar Chuni Lal rewarded Vir Chakra. Dr. G.D.Bansal, Director General CGC paid rich tributes to the martyrs of the country and said that on one hand it is a day making all of us feel proud for having won the historical Kargil war, however, on the other hand it is due to the supreme sacrifice of these brave persons that we all sleep fearlessly in our homes. He added that the nation will remain indebted to these heroes for all times to come.
