Jalandhar, November 27, 2015: Social Science week was organised in school DIPS Maqsudan near Suranussi as per the guidelines of CBSE . This week was celebrated from November 23-28. On November 23, Map Skill activity was organised for the classes IV-VIII through which map Test was conducted on the basis of mentioned syllabus as per the classes. On November 24, Poster Making activity was conducted for classes VI-X. It was based on the theme of secularism, equality, fraternity and democracy etc. All the students had participated well. On dated November 26, the Constitution Day was celebrated as per the recommendation of CBSE guidelines. Special assembly was held in the school premises in which the HOD of Social Science Ms. Navinderjeet Kaur addressed the students briefly about the significance of celebrating the Constitution Day. Respected Principal Ms. Bela Kapoor lead the school in taking the pledge by reciting “the Preamble To The Constitution”
On November 27, class wise state Presentation was organised for the classes IV-VIII .All the classes were guided to present the social, cultural and political life of each state as per their choice . They were guided and motivated by the concerned subject teachers. Classes I-III were encouraged to participate in fancy dress competition to represent the states and freedom fighters .
On the last day of the week on November 28, social science Model Competition was organised for the classes IX -X . The models prepared by the students were based on the concerned themes of Pollution, types of Industries, Maps and 21ST century eco friendly houses etc.
On the last day of the week Respected Principal Ms. Bela Kapoor had admired the students for their mass participation the position holder of each activity were rewarded with the certificates & prizes . the winners classes included V-G,Vii-G, IX-a, IX-b were congratulated by the principal. She had also motivated the students to take initiatives in such kind of activities in future too.
