Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar the Red Ribbon Club organised a Cancer Awareness Programme. During the programme Dr.Charnjiv Singh, Dr.Amita Sood and Dr.Saravdeep Kaur from NGO, Give 2 Heal charitable Society(Regd.) apprised the students about the different forms of cancer plus the different stages and symptoms of the disease. They also talked at length about ways to prevent the disease which was better prevented than cured. In the present times two best preventive methods outlined by them were regular medical check-up by a proper doctor and a healthy lifestyle. Cancer cure became very easy with early detection was another point emphasized in their talk. Various queries about the dreaded disease were answered to the satisfaction of the students.
Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi commented that various programmes of such type which were organized on campus for the students from time to time would help them adopt a healthy lifestyle and raise the general standards of physical health. She also congratulated Dr. Madhumeet, Ms. Sadhna Tandon and their team for a successful conduct of the programme.
