Blood Donation Camp at Jugnoo Head Quarter

Chandigarh, December 11, 2018: Jugnoo, India’s largest auto-rickshaw aggregator has organized a blood donation camp in collaboration with Rotary & Blood Bank Society Resource Centre on 11th December 2018, at Jugnoo Headquarters. The idea behind the initiative was to support the city’s blood bank and to spread awareness on the importance of donating blood. The Blood Donors were honored by giving certificates for donating blood by Rotary & Blood Bank Society Resource Centre, Chandigarh for a noble cause.

About 53 employees of the company donated blood in this camp of which more than 10 people donated blood for the first time under the supervision of Dr. Manish Rai, Director Rotary & Blood Bank Society Resource Centre, Chandigarh. Every donor donated approximately 350-450 ml of blood after passing through preliminary medical tests like BP, HB, weight-check etc. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Manish Rai said “This is the noblest cause of selfless service that Jugnoo’s employees are doing. Blood is the only product which cannot be manufactured, human beings are the only source of it. Any healthy individual between 18- 65 years of age can donate blood. Every blood donation is processed in the 3-4 component, hence one donation can help 3-4 lives. Any healthy individual can donate blood in any licensed blood bank in the country.” Approximately 53 units of blood were collected in the camp.

Thanking all the donors for being a part of this drive, Ms. Manpreet Kaur- Public Relations officer of Jugnoo said, “There is a constant need of blood. Unfortunately, many people only think to donate during or after an emergency. But every few seconds, someone, somewhere needs blood. Through this blood camp, we want to be there for someone else. Sharing Blood is sharing life and it gives us immense contentment by uniting today to contribute to a cause like this, we can really make a difference, no matter how small. We express our gratitude to the Rotary & Blood Bank Society Resource Centre in making this camp a great success.”
