Chandigarh, September 29, 2014: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today asked the Chief Secretary to prepare a blue print to establish Unified Service Delivery Centers in the State to provide 223 citizen centric services to the urban as well as rural populace in an integrated manner under a single roof in a hassle free manner within a minimum time period.  
While reviewing the status of Suwidha and RTS service delivery, Badal asked the Chief Secretary to ensure the establishment of these 1750 rural and 424 urban centers at a cost of Rs. 250 crore, positively within a year.  He also directed the Chief Secretary to identify the sites for these centers both in rural as well as urban areas in consultation with the departments of Rural Development & Panchayats and Local Govt.  The Chief Minister also categorically said that these centers should not be merely ready within a year but also be made functional to provide these services in a result-oriented manner.  
Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary apprised Badal each rural center would be established in a cluster of villages covering 8000 to 10000 population and similarly an urban center would be set up at a radius of 1.5 to 2.5 square Kilometer area based upon the population density.  He also mentioned that the existing front end delivery center i.e. Suwidha, Fard, Saanjh and transport to be harmonized with unified service delivery centers with a  back-end computerization of 223 services including 149 RTS services of various departments to be expedited.  The deputy commissioner would be the nodal officer to steer the program in respective district.  
Prominent amongst others who attended the meeting included Chief Secretary Sarvesh Kaushal, Principal Secretary Governance Reforms C.Roul, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister SK Sandhu, Principal Secretary Finance Vinni Mahajan, Secretary Local Government Ashok Gupta besides Gaggandip Singh Brar and Ajoy Sharma both Special Principal Secretaries to Chief Minister.
