Avon Cycles participates in The Bicycle Excon

Ludhiana: The Bicycle ExCon 2016 was organised at Chandigarh on 8 – 9th December, 2016 by CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) in collaboration with Government of Punjab, AICMA (All India Cycle Manufacturers Association) and the Chandigarh Tourism.

His Excellency Governor of Punjab and Chief Administrator of UT Chandigarh – Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore inaugurated the conclave.

Delegates from 16 countries; India, China, Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Switzerland, Germany, Bangladesh, Myanmar, USA, Jordon, Sri Lanka, Russia, Hong Kong, Malaysia & Mozambique under the banner of ABA (Asia Bike Alliance) were present in the ExCon.

The sessions were mainly focused on Emerging Trends, Challenges & New Vision of Bicycle Industry in Ascia Pacific, Frontier Business Processes – Skill development, Brand Building & e-commerce. Mr. Rishi Pahwa, Jt. Managing Director of Avon Cycles while sharing his views stressed on need of improvement in infrastructure, manufacturing & design aspects.
Dr. Zhaoyang Wang, CEO, Melie Group & Phoenix Bicycles, suggested three key strengths: labour, quality & innovation to make Indian market of global standards.

At the session on ‘International best practices for expanding cycling demand’ experts said that cycling is not only a recreational activity but it is also becoming a life style.

On 09.12.16, to promote cycling across the world awareness about the benefit of a bicycle Rally was organized in three following formats:

Elite Race of 14 Kms, Corporate Green Drive of 10 Kms & Fun Ride 06 Kms.

Corporate Green Drive rally was flagged off by Mr. Rishi Pahwa, Jt. Managing Director of Avon Cycles and .Mr.Ma Zhongchao, Chairman, China Bicycle Association. The foreign delegates of ABA (Asia Bike Alliance) participated in this rally with great enthusiasm. They had high appreciation for the city beautiful & the organizers . Mr. Rishi Pahwa distributed the certificates to the winners.
