Mukherjee urged the ADCs to always bear in mind that "they were never guests but inmates of this house and each and every part of which is associated not only with imperial history but the history of our country, its people and its future".

The aides had gathered from around India and the globe, including countries like the US, Australia, Britain, Egypt and the UAE.

The event was attended by ADCs past and present, representing all the presidencies since Independence, a statement from the Rashtrapati Bhavan said.
