Jalandhar, April 28, 2017: 7 Day Faculty Development Programme on Research Methods for Data Analysis for Engineers and Researchers concludes today at I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University organized by Department of Food Engineering in collaboration with Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. This FDP was in line with the UGC’s norms for a week long programmes that are essential for measuring the performance of academics all across the country. This 7-day hands-on practical FDP aimed at providing new insights into comprehending appropriateness of statistical software for the analysis of research data. Teaching pedagogy included theoretical lectures as well as hands-on practical sessions using various softwares. Detailed sessions on basics of research methodology;understanding research and sampling designs; univariate and bivariate data analysis; qualitative data analysis; hypothesis testing; chi-square test; ANOVA; issues in copyright and plagiarism were taken up by the eminent resource persons which include Dr. BS Mann (GNDU); Dr. Kirti Dang Longani (University of Pune); Dr. Amarjit Singh Sethi (GNDU); Dr. Kamlesh Prasad (SLIET), Dr. AK Thukral (GNDU); Advocate KunwarSood (Punjab and Haryana High Court).
Participants from Guru Nanak Dev University, Punjabi University, DCR University of Science and Technology, NIT and other affiliated colleges of IKGPTU participated with great enthusiasm in this FDP. Dr. N. P. Singh (Dean, Planning and External Programs), IKGPTU and the Chief Guest for the valedictory session congratulated the participants and the entire team of organizing committee for successful completion of the FDP. Dr. B.P. Garg (Registrar, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education); Dr. Rajneesh Sachdev (Director and Head, Department of Food Engineering); Er. Barinderjit Singh (Coordinator, FDP); Dr. Shabir Sidhu (Assistant Professor, Department of Food Engineering); Mr. Jatinderbir Singh (member, organizing committee) graced the stage with their presence.
