48 School Teachers Found Absent, 114 Latecomers & 29 Longtime Absentee in Punjab!

Chandigarh, September 26, 2015: On the directions of Dr.Daljit Singh Cheema, Education Minister Punjab, Special teams of the Education Department conducted surprise checks in 1072 Schools of the State with the aim of ensuring punctuality and discipline in the Schools. Three Circles namely Jalandhar, Faridkot and Nabha (Patiala) were visited by the special teams at the same time.
Divulging the details a spokesperson of the department said that during the special checking total 48 teachers were found absent while 114 teachers were late whereas 29 teachers were found long time absentees. He said that immediately after opening the schools special teams visited 441 schools of Faridkot Circle, 313 schools of Nabha (Patiala) and 328 schools of Jalandhar Circle.
He further said that 17 teachers were found absent in Fardikot Circle and 34 were late comers while 8 found long time absentee. Similarly during the check of 313 schools in Nabha (Circle) 18 teachers were found absent, 22 were late comers and 13 teachers were long time absentees. In Jalandhar Circle 13 teachers were absent, 58 were late comers and 8 long time absentee.
The Spokesman said that to maintain discipline and punctuality in the Government Schools special and surprise checking would continue in future also. The Minister also directed to the senior officers that 100 percent attendance of the teachers would be ensured.
