110 examined in cancer screening camp 

As many as 110 people were examined during a cancer screening camp at Kurukshetra. The Local MLA Subhash Sudha inaugurated the camp which was organised by Max Hospital, Mohali in association with Dr. Thakur Doss Lalit Charitable Trust, Kurukshetra.

Mohali, January 9, 2023:  As many as 110 people were examined during a cancer screening camp at Kurukshetra. The Local MLA Subhash Sudha inaugurated the camp which was organised by Max Hospital, Mohali in association with Dr. Thakur Doss Lalit Charitable Trust, Kurukshetra.

During camp a team of Max oncology experts including Dr. Pankaj Kumar associate director of radiation oncology, Dr. Gautam Goyal principal consultant of medical oncology, Dr Arvind Guru associate consultant of surgical oncology and Dr. Kanika Sharma associate consultant of medical oncology examined the patients.

During camp the experts explained about the commonly seen symptoms like lump and swelling in the body, wound and ulcer in the mouth , bleeding in stool, urine or abnormal vaginal bleeding , lump in the breast, any swelling in neck , changes in the voice, cough or breathlessness  a long time and difficulty in swallowing food are symptoms of the cancer.  

They further informed that the most curable forms of cancer include: breast cancer, cervical cancer, prostate cancer and oral cavity cancer. The cancer is curable if detected in early stages of cancer i.e. stages I and II. The cancer is treatable at all stages.

The Various treatment options available are; surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, targeted therapy and hormonal therapy, they maintained.
