Panjab University to Honour Employees for Outstanding Performance on Independence Day

Chandigarh, August 13, 2025: Panjab University, Chandigarh, will felicitate a number of its employees for their exemplary contributions on the occasion of Independence Day. Each awardee will receive a cash prize of ₹2,100, along with a commendation certificate and memento. The employees to be honoured are: Vinod Kumar Pal, Helper (D.W), PU Main Guest House; Veena, Senior Assistant, Department of Public Relations; Sanjeev Kumar, Record Keeper, Department of Biotechnology; Baljit Singh, Security Officer, Office of Chief University Security; Randeep Singh, Senior Draftsman, Architect Office; Rupinder Kaur, Stenographer, Establishment-II; Kidar Nath, Driver, Office of the Registrar; Sanjay, Cleaner, Office of the Registrar; and Virender Singh, Daily Wage Helper, Computer Centre.

In addition, the following employees will receive a Letter of Appreciation and a memento for their commendable performance: Laxmi Kori, Clerk (D.W), Conduct Branch; Pushpa Rani, Clerk (Temp), University Business School, Ludhiana; Anil Kumar, Scientific Officer, Dr. S.S. Bhatnagar Chemical Engineering & Technology; and Sandeep Rawat, Senior Technician Grade-II, Department of Chemistry.

Dr. Prabhdip Brar, Chairperson, University Institute of Fashion Technology and Vocational Development, will also be honoured for designing the dress code for PU’s 72nd Annual Convocation.

Furthermore, the University will formally acknowledge the efforts of a team led by Dr. Parveen Goyal for successfully reclaiming long-encroached University property at Hall Gate, Amritsar. The team secured physical possession of Shop Nos. 02, 03, 04, and 05 at Hall Gate, Hall Bazar, from unauthorised occupants. The team members being honoured include Dr. Parveen Goyal, Associate Professor, UIET Department; Sandeep Grover, Deputy Registrar (Estate); Nirmal Paul, Assistant Registrar (Estate); Ashwani Kumar, Superintendent (Estate); Ashwani Dogra, Senior Assistant (Estate); and Ankush, Junior Assistant (Estate).
