Dharamshala, June 29, 2017: The monsoon is showing it's arrival in Himachal,as the heavy to medium rain is being continued in almost entire state for the last 3 days .
The high reaches of Himachal Pradesh, once again experiencing fresh snowfall , in this summer season and the rest of the State is being slashed by rainfall however tourist destinations like Manali Shimla and Dharamsala are still rushed in due heat waves in the plain and school vacations in the neighboring states . The Dhouladhar ranges of Dharamsala are experiencing snowfall since Tuesday nigh. The Met Office had forecast snowfall at many places in the high reaches.
The press release of the Meteorological Centre of the Ministry Of Earth Sciences, said that this change in the weather is due to yesterday’s Western Disturbance as a trough in mid tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 km amsl now runs roughly along Long. 710E & north of Lat.300N. trough at mean sea level from west Rajasthan to westcentral Bay of Bengal now runs from centre of low pressure area over Saurashtra & neighbourhood to westcentral Bay of Bengal across north Madhya Pradesh, Chhatishgarh & north Odisha & extends upto 1.5 km amsl. Forecast said that the similler climatic conditions shall prevail in the coming 5 days too.
The highest Rainfall recorded for the last 24 hours was at Paonta Sahib, where 77mm of rain recorded. The other wet places in the state were Bharwain with 55mm rain followed by Nadaun-52, Bangana-50, Dehra Gopipur & Nahan-49 each, Renuka-48, Mehre-47, Guler-45, Sangrah & Naina Devi -40 each, Nagrota Suriyan-38, Dharamshala & Kandaghat-36 each,Hamirpur-34, Sujanpur Tira-33, Dharampur-32, Gohar-31, Rajgarh-30, Una-29, Solan-27, Kotkhai-26, Jubbar Hatti-25, Palampur-24, Rohru & Aghar-23 each, Sarkaghat-22, and Shimla-21 mm of rain,
Maximum temperatures decreased by 5 to 6 degrees & Minimum temperatures decreased by 1 to 2 degrees during last 24 hrs. The Lowest temperature recorded was at Kalpa = 11.4°C and Highest temperature recorded at Una= 28.6 °C.
