Writes letter to Punjab CM against retirees keen to get extensions in their jobs
Jalandhar, April 8, 2017: It’s in our notice that government servants those who are retired from the department are keen interested to take extension for their jobs, said Sanjay Sehgal, Senior Vice Chairman, RTI Cell of Punjab Congress Committee.
In a statement here on Saturday, he said he has written brief letter to Capt Amarinder Singh, Chief Minister, Punjab that before giving job extension to the retired employees, the government should check ACR (Annual Confidential Report) including service record of the retired employees. The state government should collect information from all the head of the departments that after retirement since how long retired employees are getting extension. In this way they are grabbing the rights of new generation which is injustice and Congress will not tolerate if extensions are given without approval of the government. Moreover, in some departments government officials have deputed private employees with them and they are giving salary from the part of corruption. Government departments should adopt criteria if they need private employee in the departments the data may be collected from Employment Exchange as number of educated youth are registered in Employment Exchanges throughout the state. Government departments where public dealing is frequent and maximum in numbers and retired employee are very keen interested to get extension.
Adding, he said it's in their notice that there are number of government employees those who are retired 4-5 years back, they are still working in the government departments. Congress is committed to its election manifesto and preference should be given to deserving candidates those who fulfill the norms. “Hopefully you'll (CM, Punjab) take up the matter in justice of new generation, he wrote to the Punjab CM.
