World Fiesta conducted by The Manthan School

Noida: To relight and foster the feeling of love, brotherhood and togetherness, the students of ‘The Manthan School, Noida’ assembled to outset the celebration ‘World Fiesta’. In a four day eventful program, the students learned about the culture and traditions of countries like France, China, Germany and Spain. A group of students opened a window to ‘France’ where the team acquainted the students with the contribution of France towards the world. The students began their array with the national anthem of ‘France’. A student dressed up like Napoleon Bonaparte and demonstrated about the geographical, political and historical aspects of France through a PowerPoint Presentation. Some valuable facts about the country were elucidated by a student through a clock. The students enriched their knowledge about French language and learnt the importance of knowing few French words while visiting France.
The school team members, dressed in Chinese attire apprised the students with the geographical features, invention of finger punching machine, discovery of paper and usage of gunpowder through their PowerPoint Presentation. The exhibition of the flag, currency, language and cuisine of China was also done through an enactment. The students were familiarized with the valuable facts of the country by an impressive and entertaining visual demonstration. They were made aware about the Chinese Carnival through a dragon dance, Taekwondo and a melodious Chinese song. Students also took a glance at the heritage and lore of the German culture. The team members were dressed in Cowboy attire. The students portrayed the outfit and German language in a playact. They came to know about the famous monuments, currency, eminent people and prominent brands from Germany through a PowerPoint Presentation. The students acquainted everyone with the prominent festivity of Germany ‘Oktoberfest’ and served the German black forest and pan cakes to everyone.
Lastly, on the occasion the team members dressed in Spanish apparel familiarized the students with the history, currency, language, dance and sports of the country. A student presented a ‘Book of Spain’ illustrating the eminent people of Spain who outstood in various fields. The national day, national anthem and national festivals of Spain were portrayed by the team through an animated visual presentation. A role play was done by the students to depict the cuisine and currency of Spain. The program concluded with a fabulous Flamenco and Salsa dance by the students followed by their teachers. The fun and frolic ended on a jovial note spreading lots of colors and glitters in the atmosphere enhancing insight about the cultural integrity in diversity of other countries.
School director, Divya Jain, said, “India today is a part of a globalized era where it is very important for our youth to have knowledge of global culture. The four day world fiesta program was planned and conducted to provide various benefits to the students; as with this opportunity they learnt about the foreign culture and their traditions of four different developed nations.
