Workshop on grooming techniques and safe use of social media

Chandigarh: Government Home Science College, Sector- 10 held a session on Grooming techniques and safe use of social media in collaboration with “Sarthi for Climate Vandevi Trust” and LUVYA-The Fashion House of Sec 7C. Noted International Fashion Designer of city Neetu Arora volunteered her services to students of Home Science College while teaching them tips of self-grooming. The session was attended by fashion designing Students along with teachers and other stream students. As many as 110 students learnt the way to style themselves in the least possible budget. 
 
Fashion Designer Neetu Arora and “Sarthi for climate Vandevi Trust” Chairman Taruni Gandhi was welcomed by Principal Ms. Sudha Katyal with Placement Coordinator Dr. Shabana Gandhi. While interacting with students Arora exerts that it is not true that people are going to judge you with your clothes but it is also pertinent to know that one should dress up wisely for first own-self and then as per atmosphere, time and weather. While telling students about body types, color and styling, Neetu Arora emphasized on Positive attitude while carrying different styles everyday and gave social message that every girl should first Love and accept herself. Taruni Gandhi, informed the students regarding the wiser use of social media and shared various strategies that one must follow to sustain their safety in public places.  She also shared the importance of using ‘Share Location’ feature on google maps to intimate their actual location to their known ones. She shared her thoughts on emotional balancing and make oneself secure while working at different places.

Principal of the college, Prof. Sudha Katyal, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the guest speakers of the day by presenting a token of love and regards to them. She further motivated the students to adopt such strategies to safeguard themselves.
